are not really “guilty.” There are mental or emotional reasons for their weakness. They have a learning disorder that left them frustrated. The home environment was hell, and they were left with inner rage they could not control. They have done some unfortunate things, but they aren’t really bad people. God should feel fortunate to have them on board if they decide to follow him. This sort of thinking is hardly unique to the inmate population. What is frightening is that it is mirrored in our churches.
